Environmental information systems
The MSFD Article 4 reporting obligation provides the geographical framework for all Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) reporting. Member States report the spatial units within their marine waters that are used for assessments, monitoring programmes, and measures under the Directive. These Marine Reporting Units (MRUs) ensure that reporting is geographically consistent and can be linked across different MSFD articles and reporting cycles.
